South East World-class Digital Summit 2024

The Summit event will gather resourceful personnel and partnerships across the country and beyond as facilitators to help empower the Work force both potential and actuals across both public and private sectors in the South Eastern States.

A Two (2) Day summit that will comprise Lectures, Panel sessions, Breakout sessions, workshop sessions, Question & Answer Sessions, Exhibitions, and Trade partnerships among others.

Before the Summit D-Days, there will be ongoing Interviews on Radio/Tv for the Governor’s and at the office of Dignitaries, Commissioners, Chairmen, Capital of Industries, CEO’s, NGO’s, VC’s, Rectors, Members of the House of Assembly, International bodies, educational bodies, and UBEC Officers in other states. 

Addressing Tech Challenges in Every Sector

The 1st South East World-Class Digital Summit will focus on the topic ‘Transforming the Region Through Digital Technology’. As the world evolves through technology, we are constantly faced with challenges, especially with an evolving Society that is embracing technology.  This places new demands on the content and operation of every sector. Many countries have introduced digital competence to their criteria for recruitment for the purpose of aligning with prevailing realities.

However, integrating technology to fulfil these obligations can be challenging for everyone, as people in every sector must know how to meet the requirements and the needs of their various sector in the local context. This program aims to increase the understanding of how our work force, learn, deploy and mostly take advantage of technology. We believe that this integration will meet needs, and improve competitiveness with other regions and countries.

Interviews

With the bid to understand and engage with the various stakeholders, we will be having interviews with stakeholders, ranging from Government parastatals, partners, sponsors, and People in each sector, students among others. Key and relevant personnel will be selected for the context and humanization of the campaign. These interviews will be part of the collation that will be used to tell the story of this project at the event big screen and after.

Publicity and Media Rounds

Given the import of this Summit and the benefits it holds. A robust Publicity campaign will be designed to project this to stakeholders and individuals across the world thereby, creating a mutually beneficiary exposure for us our sponsors and supporters.

Event

A two-day summit that will gather People in various sectors of the economy across the South Eastern States. It will integrate both virtual and physical audiences.  The maiden Edition will be held in Enugu State and it will be streamed across centres in each State across the South Eastern Region.

Modus Operandi

All participant will register online for the summit. Participants will receive the Summit Certificate signed by the Government Executive as it will be used for your promotions.

DAY 1

Address: The Governors of each participating state will deliver their message virtually alongside other selected Stakeholders.

Lecture:  Professionals in the digital space will deliver lecture tied to the topic and taking advantage of opportunities in the digital space for growth and productivity. 

Breakout sessions: Participants will be divided according to their sectors and specifically spoken to on how to evolve their sector through technology.

Panel Session: This panel session will comprise four digital professionals and influencers and it will be moderated by a host.

Q & A: After the panel session, Q &A will ensue. The virtual audience will use the Slydo App to send in questions.

NB There will also be a live session where virtual participants will be seen real time on a big screen.

DAY 2

Lecture: Professionals in the digital space will deliver lecture tied to the topic and taking advantage of opportunities in the digital space for growth and productivity. 

Exhibition: Tech Firms with products for each sector will be allowed to showcase their products through a mini-fair. Also, Sponsors will be given time for interaction and product/service sampling and engagement.

Interactive session: In this session, every sector represented will be asked to voice out their challenges. The goal is to provide technology-based solutions to their relative challenges.

Introduction of the VSP Portal

The Virtual Schools Portal (VSP) Portal is currently in use in Anambra State, designed and built by MicNet Concept International and lunched on AMAZON could 9.  Currently, we have over 105,020 users, produced over 98,040 student’s online results with login passwords, empowered 200 state teachers and 200 external staff, they were paid and trained on the use of the VSP portal. This innovation (VSP) has helped teachers solve challenges right in the comfort of their homes across every LGA in Anambra state, saving them money and risk associated with travelling. Our aim is to deploy the Virtual Schools Portal (VSP) across the states.

Empowerment

Given the goal of this summit, the purpose will not be fulfilled if we do not aid participant across the South Eastern States in practically engaging in digital activities that will improve their productivity. To this end, we will be providing 10,000 people with the opportunity to own Laptops and phones easily.

The idea is to help them acquire Laptops and phones through a device financing scheme that will be subsidized

• 10,000 people will be provided the opportunity to own laptops within the range of N190,000. And N450,000 and phones within the range of N60,000 and 120,000.
• We will seek government, organization, and individual support that will take at least 30% of the cost.
• The remaining payment will be spread across 12, 9, or 6 months depending on the participants choice of repayment plan.
• Laptops and phones will be acquired from a source company: HP or Dell phone will be TECHNO or Samson, through a partnership.
• Financing options will be thrown open to financial institutions with a very fair interest rate
• Payment will be deducted from source.

One of the major impacts of this project is the empowerment of south eastern work force with a system that will help them learn and practice on how to use computers for their ICT tasks.

Empowerment Scheme form the summit

• 3,000 youths across the region will be trained on digital skills
• Farmers will be empowered with phone and an app that will be built to help them request for fertilizers, equipment, training and loans.
• Provision of devices to participants either as free or through a subsidized finance financing scheme.

Benefit

• This will be a learning, training, and networking opportunity for people in various sectors
• It is empowerment initiative that empower thousands with digital tool.
• Growth and development opportunities for the sectors the south eastern economies
• This will be an avenue to voice critical challenges impacting on the growth of the south eastern states
• As a solution-based summit. all solutions proffered will be documented and made available to all stakeholders
• We will establish a feedback mechanism between the stakeholders
• The summit will birth opportunities for the development of tech solutions that will foster growth in the region.
• It will birth a system for job creation and the proliferation of tech skills

Building a Tech Hub:

With the summit being an annual event that will be rotated among the South-Eastern States, the need to build the biggest tech hub in the South -Eastern State has become necessary.  The tech hub will serve as:

• A research and development center: With the digital summit being a summit where issues are collated. The tech hub will be saddled with further research on these issues. Also, the hub will also be researching on challenges of the region that tech can solve. Individuals will also have the opportunities to use this as a research center.
• Creative and Innovation center: The hub will also be a center where digital technologies will be built to address the issues of each sector and human living as a whole.  

• Tech Partnership Hub: The hub will provide partnership opportunities for Individuals with tech ideas. They can work with us for the development and deployment of their technology that way, people’s dreams will be supported and encouraged.

• Trainings: The hub will give opportunities for trainings and learning. This will be opened to both Kids, Teens, Youths, adults Private and Public sector. We will specifically design programs for Kids and Teenagers to help them build Tech skills. All-round tech education. Building the future starts from this.

• The Summit’s Afterlife: With the summit creating opportunities, the tech hub will be there to sustain and maintain momentum.  It will provide connection for the participants and opportunities for continued learning.  The follow-up and development of all tech solution from the summit will be championed by the hub.
